I’m not really sure why, but I haven’t traveled a lot to other German cities before . When I have just moved to Germany I wanted to visit all the neighboring countries such as Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. I thought that since I live in Germany I will have plenty of time to explore it… a bit later. And I think that the time has finally come. I decided to start from Munich, the third largest and of the most beautiful German cities.

Munich is a capital of Bavaria and home to the centuries-old buildings and museums. And in order to feel the atmosphere of the town we decided to stay in the Platzl Hotel which is situated right in the heart of city’s old-town, just a two-minutes walk from the Marienplatz Square and the Hofbräuhaus Brewery. In my opinion, this location is just perfect for the first-time visitors such as myself and my boyfriend.

We were hosted in the Deluxe Double Room, the largest double room in a hotel, with the big comfortable bed, TV, working space, comfortable chairs and built in storage room (every girls dream, right?).

In addition to our room we were very happy to discover a bathroom with an actual bath in it (always a plus when you run around the town like a crazy tourist and then at the end of the day decide to take a bubble bath, mmm…) and local beer cosmetic products, such as body milk, shower gel, hand cream, etc. I guess, that when you are in Munich even the cosmetics have to contain beer 😀

And now for my favourite part – the breakfast. Well, our breakfast in Platzl Hotel was so far the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Very substantial, varied with fresh fruits, vegetables and even a self-operated smoothie machine. The fans of a heartier breakfast won’t be disappointed as well with the huge selection of signature Bavarian dishes like white sausage, meatloaf and their famous sweet mustard. Surprisingly, they even had my favourite bretzels, along with a wide variety of breads and much more. All in all, this breakfast buffet was absolutely beautiful, with such attention to every detail.

At the end of our stay we went to the Wellness zone to relax and enjoy the last moments of our perfect weekend in Munich. Wellness zone in Platzl Hotel includes sauna, aromatic steam bath, foot bath and multi-sensory showers. The design is very similar to Morrocan baths, which makes the experience even more special and unique.

All in all, we have spent a very nice weekend in Munich and would like to say thank you to the Platzl Hotel team for the warmest welcome, unexpected presents and an amazing experience. We will definitely come back soon!
